Pier & Surf Fishing 

Looking to fish from shore or off the infamous Cayucos Pier? We've got your tackle needs covered, including with frozen & live bait.

The historic Cayucos pier, located just outside our shop doors, is a favorite destination for anglers of all ages and skill levels. Depending on the season, fishermen (and fisher-ladies!) regularly catch surfperch, jacksmelt, mackerel, sardines, rockfish and the occasional halibut. It's and easy and accessible way to enjoy a day on the water while taking in the best coastal views. 

For those looking to fish from shore (with a legal fishing license), the miles of sandy beaches surrounding Cayucos provides outstanding surf fishing opportunities. Surfperch can be found year-round in the troughs and structures along the beach, while halibut and striped bass make seasonal appearances for anglers willing to put in the time. With the right tackle, bait, and local knowledge, the surf can produce some incredible catches.
